1st of October Dairy ~ Production meeting ~ Concepts

After talking in class on Friday the 1st of October, as a group we came up with 3 main concepts to take away at the weekend and come back to the group with a few stories each based on our concepts to share in the production meeting.

The themes we created were. . .

'A powerful person who falls' this idea was based on previous idea's and discussions we've had as a group'.

'The egde of this dying romance' an idea of a falling of a romance, ending on one side of a relationship

Idea's from our quotes

I am the greatest, i said that even before i knew i was
  • Vanity
  • Power lost
  • Main character as focus
  • Twist, secret falling
  • Reality shock
  • Illness
  • Drugs - The effects of - POV
  • Self harm
  • Emotion
  • Loss of confidence
  • Abstract rep's

The edge of this dying romance

  • Relationships
  • Snaps shots of life - non liner
  • End of stage in life
  • Love or Addiction
  • Tragic ending

Our feedback from peer's was to explore explore ways in 'ungloomifing' our topics and maybe present them in a black comedy sense, our ideas were also to consider an old cinema 'slapstick' style of film.

Our Story - Requirements

To find a story for our film, we should...

- Use minimal or no dialogue.

- Based on the theme of the fall.

- Informs and educates an audience of our message.

- Simple story, not to complex.

- With Depth.

Our Discussions

  • Powerful character that will fall - inspired by the crime genre.

  • Find quotes, or motto's that mean something to us.

  • Single Parents.

  • Politics, current affairs, our place.

  • Reality and expectations.

  • Scene's in the rain, ideas we've drafted.

(The image is a take on a scene idea i had, i birds eye view of umbrellas in the rain).

  • Structure, non Linerar.

  • Almost news report like structure.

  • Fast paced editing.
